Fun & Beautiful Pleasant Ridge Maternity Session
Krystal has been a friend for the last few years, when we first connected on Instagram. As a fellow photographer, she has been such a great sounding board and friend, as we have watched our businesses grow together. I asked Krystal to capture my own family session this year, and I was so honored to have her ask me to capture this beautiful stage in her family, as they become a family of four.
Maternity sessions with second children are so special, as I love to focus on capturing the bond between a mama and her first baby, the one that made her a mother. Krystal’s love for Leo is so evident, and it was so precious to capture their strong bond.
She’s also just the cutest pregnant woman, and it was a high priority for me to capture some stunning portraits of her soaking up the anticipation of joy of welcoming another child to her family. Pregnancy can be so challenging, as we navigate our bodies changing and growing, but I was so glad to capture the strength and beauty of her pregnancy.
Maternity sessions are also such a beautiful time to capture the love that started it all…you and your partner. Capturing these details, like the way he looks at you, mean even more when your family is growing. I love thinking about how their boys will one day look at these pictures and think “wow, they’ve always been wild about each other.”
Maternity sessions can be such a beautiful way to really savor those last few weeks of your pregnancy. Stopping to breathe it all in, to celebrate how far you’ve come and how excited you are for what’s next. It’s really something magical.
